Sontheim Industrie Elektronik GmbH
Since our establishment in 1996 we have been providing to our
international customers a broad range of hardware and software
components as well as services in the automation and automotive sector.
Sontheim Industrie Elektronik is known for technical outstanding
products, close customer contact and the combination of single
components to a perfectly suitable overall solution.
We have both standardized as well as customer-specific products in
our portfolio since 15 years. Our project teams support you in any
aspect of your project: from development to integration and support,
from the Allgau region to Australia. The knowhow in fieldbus technology
is used in the automation and automotive sector for numerous kinds of
application. However, our focus is always on several fieldbus protocolls
such as CAN, EtherCAT, Profibus and the automotive-related ones.
Our IPCs can be used in many different use-cases quite conveniently: on
the ground in any form of assembly station, in the water for controlling
valves or - if you want - in the air. The whole design concept is based
on exchangeable components which allows an easy adaptation to specific
process requirements. CPU, interface cards, even the front cover can be
configured individually for both IPC and ePC. That makes for an high-end
operator of CAN-networks, a fanless controlling device in tough
environments or as a simple substitute of a desktop PC.
We supply a wide range of remote IO modules that offer high flexibility
and process safety due to different interfaces, fieldbusses and safety
functions. All modules can be mounted in a control cabinet on a TS35 top
hat rail. We have passed an independent benchmark for our modules with
the result of being exceptionally fast and safe. The devices support CAN
and EtherCAT and can be adapted to your requirements. Besides the
IO-modules we have years of experience in setting up automation
processes and designing software tools for configuration, setting
parameters and controlling fieldbus networks.

How do you conduct field bus analysis in different separated networks? Is there a way of having one single device handling all necessary diagnostics that can be carried around by service technicians if necessary – much like a PDA? Modern automation requires both high performance hardware combined with flexibility and durability in daily usage. Sontheim Industrie Elektronik GmbH has developed a highly mobile tool for exactly achieving these tasks. Mobi-CAN is a small industrial PC that has been designed for diagnostics in 11-Bit or 29-Bit identifier CAN-Bus networks.
