Socle Technology Corporation
Founded in 2001, Socle Technology Corporation has been the world’s most
leading-edge provider of SoC (System on Chip) design and
implementation services since. In June 2008, Socle introduced the
strategy investor, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Limited, one
of the world’s top dedicated semiconductor foundries, as the major
shareholder to enlarge Socle's service scopes in SoC platform, SoC
implementation, IP offerings, and Turnkey Service. In December 2009,
Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Limited was formally merged into
GLOBALFOUNDRIES, a new foundry founded by ATIC and AMD in early 2009.
GLOBALFOUNDRIES has been forecasted soon to be the No. 2 foundry in
terms of market share. Socle is now the ONLY design service affiliate of
Basic IP covers generic components for an IC, which includes Wide-range Phase-Lock Loop (PLL) and DDR Delay-Lock Loop (DLL).
Complex IP constructs the structure of SoC and various interfaces to
fill the application requirements. It includes platform core IP, DDR2
and DDR3 controller IP, USB2.0 host/device/OTG IP, Serial ATA IP, PCI
express IP, and others interface IP to link up external devices.
Foundation IP covers various cell-level components for chip
implementation, which includes standard cell libraries, memory
compilers, general-purpose I/O, and power management kit (PMK).
Processor IP covers various computing cores for different application
SoC, which includes the cutting edge graphic core, Mali, and ARM11, and
ARM9 cores. Socle licensed ARM11 cores and Mali cores under ARM IP
Portfolio Program to provide comprehensive and flexible processor
solutions for customer's need in high-end consumer electronics, such as
MID Netbook, PMP, and others.
